Your first session
Get your game connected.

Open the Agent
Run the installer, then open Overcharge from the Start menu. For portable, open the downloaded EXE. The Agent checks whether Dota is running. Open Play to see Io waiting for a new match signal. Fresh match input opens the native draft room; Show tabs or Esc restores navigation.

Set up the connection
In the Agent, choose Install / repair connection. If Dota is not found, choose its installation folder. Steam sign-in and an API key are not required for the local connection.

Launch when you are ready
Use Launch Dota 2 in the Agent. If Dota is already open, the Agent leaves it running. For your next session, close it yourself when convenient and launch through the Agent to enable game data.
“Listening” means the local receiver is ready. Actual game updates appear separately. Some modes do not expose every draft field; unknown picks and bans stay unknown.
A few things to know.
How do updates work?
Choose Check for updates in the Agent to return here. Close the Agent, then run the newer installer or replace your portable EXE. Updates are manual. Existing local records are kept; uninstalling the app also leaves your user data in place.
Receiver error or port conflict?
Choose Retry receiver in Connection settings. The Agent can recover an occupied port using a free local port and remember it for the next start. Then choose Install / repair connection to update Dota’s connection file. If Dota is already open, restart it yourself when convenient. A listening receiver and incoming game data are separate states.
Connected, but no hero appears?
A heartbeat can reach the Agent without hero or match fields. A received local hero appears as You even when team draft slots are unavailable. When Dota is detected, local screen recognition starts automatically in the Agent. It reads visible portrait slots near the top of the Dota window, retains stable estimates and stops capturing after ten distinct picks are recognized. Screen estimates are separate from GSI and may be wrong or unavailable; full Ranked pick/ban coverage is not verified.
How do I sign in to Matches?
Open Matches and choose Sign in through Steam. In connector.20, the Steam authentication pages stay in the same isolated web tab and account session. Complete Steam’s own sign-in, then return to Matches. Your Steam web account is separate from the local game connection. This release repairs blocked authentication navigation; a completed real-account login has not yet been verified.
Can I use it offline?
The local game connection and Agent interface can start offline. Heroes, Builds, Matches, Meta and Pros open the live website inside the Agent and need an internet connection. Play, manual planning and connection settings remain local.
What stays on my computer?
The game connection uses a local credential. Automatic screen recognition reads only the Dota window locally, without audio, frame-file storage or upload. Optional GSI diagnostic recording is a separate feature that starts off and requires your choice to record locally. Do not share connection credentials or private capture files. Browser account sign-in is separate from the game connection.
